The Lunar III series is the successor to the highly successful Lunar I series in fine gold (1996-2007) and Lunar II series (2008-2019). The series is based on the 12 signs of the zodiac of the Chinese lunar calendar. The Lunar III series in fine gold started in 2019, and the year 2023 is the Year of the Rabbit.
The portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is depicted on the value side, while the motif side features a leaping hare with grasses. The motif changes annually, the complete series runs for 12 years - corresponding to the 12 signs of the zodiac.
