How the calculation works:
1 Select alloy
Select the appropriate gold or silver alloy (e.g. 333, 585, 750 or fine gold) in the gold calculator.
2 Enter weight
Enter the weight in grams – either from your own measurement or an estimate.
3 Receive result
The calculator shows you the estimated value in euros based on current gold prices. This amount serves as a guide for the possible purchase price.
You will then have the option to request a shipping envelope or shipping label free of charge.

Selling scrap gold by post
You can sell your old gold to Geiger Edelmetalle easily and securely by post. Once you have requested your shipping bag or shipping label via our old gold calculator, proceed as follows:
Please fill out the goods accompanying note completely and sign it. Also enclose a clearly legible copy of your identity card (front and back) – this is required by law for the purchase of precious metals.
First pack your precious metals, e.g. jewellery, dental gold or coins, in the security bag, then in the bubble envelope. Ensure that it is securely and tightly sealed.
Affix the enclosed return label to the sealed envelope (please note: valid for 20 days) and take the parcel to a post office of your choice.
Once we have received and inspected your shipment, the purchase price will usually be paid directly into your account within a few working days. If the quantity or fineness differs by more than 10%, we will of course contact you in advance.

Sind Münzen oder Barren auch Altgold?
Anlagemünzen wie der Krügerrand oder Goldbarren gelten nicht als Altgold im klassischen Sinne. Stattdessen handelt es sich um standardisierte Anlageprodukte, die in der Regel nicht eingeschmolzen, sondern weiterverkauft werden. Der Ankaufspreis wird hierbei produktbezogen kalkuliert und richtet sich nach dem aktuellen Marktwert sowie dem Zustand der Stücke.

Was bedeutet „Feinheit“, und woran erkenne ich das?
Die Feinheit gibt an, wie hoch der Anteil reinen Goldes in einer Legierung ist – z.B. 585 (58,5 % Goldanteil). Sie ist meist als Zahl in Promille (z.B. „750“) auf der Innenseite von Ringen oder auf Münzen und Barren eingeprägt. Falls keine Kennzeichnung vorhanden ist, analysieren wir die Zusammensetzung in unserem Labor präzise.
Wie ermittle ich das Gewicht von Altgold oder Altsilber?
Am besten wiegen Sie Ihre Stücke mit einer digitalen Feinwaage. Ist keine vorhanden, reicht auch eine einfache Küchenwaage als Schätzung. Alternativ können Sie den Wert ganz bequem über unseren Altgoldrechner ermitteln – hier reicht bereits eine grobe Gewichtsangabe, um einen ersten Anhaltspunkt zu bekommen.
