2 Enter weight
Enter the weight in grams – either from your own measurement or an estimate.
3 Receive result
The calculator shows you the estimated value in euros based on current gold prices. This amount serves as a guide for the possible purchase price.
You will then have the option to request a shipping envelope or shipping label free of charge.

Selling scrap gold by post
You can sell your old gold to Geiger Edelmetalle easily and securely by post. Once you have requested your shipping bag or shipping label via our old gold calculator, proceed as follows:
Please fill out the goods accompanying note completely and sign it. Also enclose a clearly legible copy of your identity card (front and back) – this is required by law for the purchase of precious metals.
First pack your precious metals, e.g. jewellery, dental gold or coins, in the security bag, then in the bubble envelope. Ensure that it is securely and tightly sealed.
Affix the enclosed return label to the sealed envelope (please note: valid for 20 days) and take the parcel to a post office of your choice.
Once we have received and inspected your shipment, the purchase price will usually be paid directly into your account within a few working days. If the quantity or fineness differs by more than 10%, we will of course contact you in advance.

What You Should Know Before Shipping
To ensure you are as well informed as possible, we have summarized important information about selling old gold and other precious metals:
- Platinum and Palladium in White Gold
If your scrap gold contains significant amounts of platinum or palladium, for example, in white gold alloys, these will of course be included in the compensation. We determine the exact composition during our in-house analysis. - No return of gemstones
Please note that we cannot purchase, remove, or return gemstones or decorative elements separately from jewelry. - Return if the offer is not accepted
If you do not agree with our purchase offer, we will, of course, return the goods to you. Return shipping will be insured and subject to a fee.
Are coins or bars also considered scrap gold?
Investment coins such as the Krugerrand or gold bars are not considered scrap gold in the traditional sense. Instead, they are standardized investment products that are generally not melted down but resold. The purchase price is calculated on a product-by-product basis and depends on the current market value and the condition of the pieces.

What does "fineness" mean, and how do I recognize it?
The fineness indicates the percentage of pure gold in an alloy—e.g., 585 (58.5% gold content). It is usually stamped as a number in parts per thousand (e.g., "750") on the inside of rings or on coins and bars. If no marking is present, we precisely analyze the composition in our laboratory.
How do I determine the weight of scrap gold or silver?
It's best to weigh your pieces using a digital precision scale. If you don't have one, a simple kitchen scale will suffice as an estimate. Alternatively, you can easily determine the value using our scrap gold calculator – a rough weight is enough to get an initial estimate.
