Popular among collectors, the gold coin of the German Emperor Wilhelm I was minted from 1871 to 1900 in the form of a 5-mark gold piece.
This gold coin has a fine weight of 1.79g. The use of copper as an alloying metal results in the resulting fineness of 900/1000.
The obverse of the gold coin is adorned by the imperial eagle with Hohenzollern shield, while around it are depicted the words "DEUTSCHES REICH", the year of mintage and the face value.
